The immigration encouraged by Sir Clifford Sifton (Minister of the Interior) started massively in 1900 and made Canada a multicultural country.

Based on the last census (2006) Canada has a combination of several ethnics groups, where you find as the largest ones: Canadian, English, French, Scottish, Irish, German, Italian, Chinese, Ukrainians, North American Indian, Dutch, Polish, Indians, etc.
